A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words…

Did you know that adding pictures to your website can help your SEO? Not only do pictures add visual interest to a website; they also give you the opportunity to add more search engine-friendly text to your site. By adding descriptions of the images on your site, you can add additional relevant keywords to help improve your search engine ranking. Just like with the text on your site, it’s important not to “keyword-stuff” as that can actually hurt your ranking, but adding strategic keywords throughout the descriptions will only help.

So what types of pictures should you add to your site? Good question! Here are a few ideas that we at BPI think look great:

  • Pictures of your staff – If your staff plays an integral part in your clients’ experience, why not have pictures of them on your site? This helps people put a face to your company and makes you that much more relatable.
  • Pictures of your building or office– When clients visit your office, you want them to feel like it’s a familiar place. Having pictures of your office space on your website will get them acquainted with your office space and make them feel at home when they visit.
  • Before and after pictures – Adding before and after pictures of your work is a great way to add keywords and get your potential clients’ attention! Not only do you get additional keywords, adding these pictures also gives your clients a chance to see just how good you are at what you do.

And these are just a few possibilities. Use your own creativity to think of what pictures might be appropriate on your website. Adding pictures will help people stay on the pages of your website longer, and that is never a bad thing! To begin adding more pictures to your website, contact BPI today at design@bpiwd.com.
